”Snap out of it!” Jakob shouted as he held back his partner's hands, armed with a knife.

They struggled on the ground, Jakob on his back, Leon on top. An inhuman, guttural voice replied.

“Leon is not here,” the doll lying on the floor said. It looked at Jakob with a savage grin on its unmoving face.

The tip of the knife came closer and closer to his chest. His arms shook with the effort to hold it back. In one swift motion, Jakob rolled to the side, throwing his possessed partner off him. Before the possessed Leon could react, Jakob slammed his fist into his partner's face. It might be simple, but pain was a great way to bring somebody back to his senses, at least for a brief period of time.

“No!” the doll cried as its grip on Leon got severed.

“The Talisman! Now!” Jakob shouted.

Dazed by the pain, his partner just stared at him from under his dishevelled blond hair that hung in his face. confusion clear on his face.

“Leon!” Jakob shouted again, scrambling to his partner.

Leon’s senses returned, he rummaged in his pocket and pulled out a stone carved with blessed symbols for Jakob. Jakob grabbed the stone and dove towards the doll. He registered the face of his partner, twisting in agony as the doll tried to reclaim control over him.

“It crawls back in my head!” he screamed and curled up into a ball.

Not much time was left. Jakob grabbed the doll by its head, held up his hand with the talisman before shouting, “By the authority given to me through this holy relic, I cast you out! Ruk’h harij ni lu’hk!”

The talisman in his hand began to glow, and heat radiated off it. He slammed the stone into the doll's chest. The doll began to shake, and a demonic, painful scream erupted from it. Ghostly green flames engulfed the possessed toy. Jakob didn’t feel a thing, but the thing inside the doll must be in agony. It shook violently, and its screams got louder and louder. But as quickly as it started, just as quickly did it stop. The doll in Jakob's hand was, once again, just that. A doll. His muscles gave in, and he collapsed on the floor, regaining his breath.

Contrary to popular belief, any god could exorcise a demon. Not just the one from Christianity. You just need the right tools, blessings, and techniques. Some of the gods required chantings and songs for their powers to take effect, which are mostly used for large-scale exorcisms. Others only take a blessed stone with a quick chant, like this one. Which came in handy, since there are many demons out there that only take a quick exorcism, but are in no way less dangerous.

Jakob looked at his partner, who looked like he wanted to puke right now, judging by how he curled up on the floor.

“You good?” Jakob asked.

As an answer, he only got Leon's thumbs up.
